Alhambra Quest VR is a Greyman Studios Oculus rift development that aims to prove the virtual reality’s possibilities apllied to a classical action and platforming game. It combines the classical interaction with a game controller —in this case, Microsoft’s Xbox controller— and, in the other hand, the Oculus Rift headset. The player has to control a character’s movement in a top-down third person view. These movements include running, jumping and fighting against enemies.
The virtual reality device is not merely an immersive display, it also turns the player into a game’s actor inside the fictional world. Using the headset, we can aim at enemies that are unaccesible to our character and throw magic spells in the form of energy balls that will take them out. We can also aim at our character and cast healing spells at him.
Our studio made this Oculus rift development to expand the storytelling universe of Alhambra Quest, a transmedia project developed by Greyman Studios based upon the Washington Irving’s book Tales of the Alhambra. This video game was ser in other temporal line with new characters with some links with the original one.
